Frequently asked questions
Quick answers about licensing, payments, safer gambling and how Casino Insider works.
Are the casinos reviewed here legal in the UK?
Yes. We only feature operators that hold an active licence from the UK Gambling Commission (UKGC). Each review links directly to the public register entry so you can check the licence yourself.
How do you score each casino?
Every brand is scored on five criteria: trust and licensing, payments, bonus fairness, customer support and mobile experience. The overall rating is the weighted average of those scores, set by our editorial team.
Do you get paid by the casinos?
We may earn a commission when you sign up through our links. This keeps Casino Insider free to use. Commission never changes our scores or the order in which brands are listed. See our Affiliate Disclosure for details.
How old do I need to be?
You must be 18 or over to gamble in the UK. All licensed operators verify your age and identity before you can deposit or withdraw.
What is GamStop?
GamStop is a free UK self-exclusion scheme. Registering blocks you from all UKGC-licensed online gambling operators for a period of your choice (6 months, 1 year or 5 years).
Can I use a credit card to deposit?
No. Since April 2020, UK-licensed operators cannot accept credit card deposits. Debit cards, e-wallets, Apple Pay and bank transfers are all common alternatives.
How long do withdrawals take?
It depends on the operator and method. E-wallets and Trustly are usually fastest (often within 24 hours), while debit cards and bank transfers can take 1–3 working days.
Where can I get help if gambling becomes a problem?
Call the National Gambling Helpline on 0808 8020 133 (free, 24/7), visit BeGambleAware.org or GamCare.org.uk, or attend a Gamblers Anonymous meeting. Our Responsible Gaming page lists more options.
